Finding the time to exercise while on the road can be challenging. With the amount of time truck drivers spend on the road, their health begins to suffer. A truck driver’s lifestyle puts them at risk for developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, sleep apnea, heart attack, and stroke. Although being a truck driver does not promote a healthy lifestyle, there are things you can do on the road to increase your health and decrease the risk of developing health issues. Exercising once a day is one way to stay healthy on the road. We listed some of our favorite workout equipment that every truck driver can store in their truck. Check it out below!
Resistance bands are inexpensive and easily stored in your truck. They also allow drivers to complete several effective workouts that target their arms, legs, chest, and shoulders. Resistance bands help strengthen and stretch your muscles. They also allow you to perform exercises in a vertical and horizontal plane. Whereas with dumbbells, you are limited to certain body positions in a vertical plane of motion.

Dumbbells are also a great way to work all of your muscles and don’t require a lot of storage space. You want to make sure you find a safe place to store the weights, so they do not slide around as you drive. By having dumbbells in your truck, you can do a full-body workout in 15-20 minutes.
Kettlebells can be used for strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance training. They are a versatile piece of equipment and allow you to complete a full-body workout in or outside of your truck. Kettlebells have earned the name all-in-one total body tool and are truly effective.
Having workout equipment in your truck can motivate you to exercise and stay fit while on the road. Another thing that can help you stay motivated to workout while on the road is The Trucking Fitness Company. They offer truck drivers a way to exercise consistently while on the road.
