The average vehicle traveling at 60 mph needs at least 240 feet to come to a safe stop. Commercial truck drivers need much more time and space to come to a complete stop. It was really helpful when you said to always perform a pre-trip inspection. My brother was at my house last night for dinner, and he talked about how he wants to look into getting a job as a truck driver in a couple of weeks. I’ll pass this information along to him once he finds a truck driver job so he can know how to stay safe!
It makes sense that truck drivers should prepare adequately for a trip by checking the potential weather conditions. In my opinion, it would also be crucial for truck drivers to get the proper amount of sleep. I’d recommend truck drivers find a reliable transport company to work for that will provide enough time each day for adequate sleep.
