One of the many benefits to being a truck driver is traveling the beautiful United States. Truck drivers spend their life on the road. Although they may get tired of driving, there are still routes and attractions most look forward to seeing. Whether it be cruising down the coast of California, driving in the Smoky Mountains, or passing through the Arizona desert, truck drivers all have their personal favorites. Pacific Coast Highway

The Pacific Coast in California, also called Highway 1, is one of the most iconic scenic drives in the United States. Driving along the pacific coast reminds you of a movie or TV show. It is about 650 miles long and runs from Capistrano Beach in Orange County to Leggett in northern Mendocino (Dana Point).

San Juan Skyway

San Juan Skyway, a scenic byway in Colorado, is known for its million dollar views. The byway goes across the San Juan National Forest and has provided truckers with beautiful views of the mountains and landscape. According to colorado.com,  in 2012, Travel + Leisure named the San Juan Skyway one of “America’s Best Spring Drives”.

Beartooth Highway

Beartooth highway in Montana is a 68 mile byway that runs through southwest Montana and northwest Wyoming and goes into Yellowstone National Park. Along this drive, you will see one of the most diverse ecosystems accessible by vehicle in the United States. 

Keep in mind that the scenic highway closes in the winter due to adverse winter conditions, and typically opens up on Memorial Day weekend.

I-64 in West Virginia
